FIVE TRACK EP AVAILABLE NOW!

Once upon a time there were 5 girls called The Dirty Burds. Everyone of them had so much to say and do (and so many people to do) they created their very own Burdland that followed them round wherever they went. Twice they recorded singles to be released and twice it almost got in the way of the fun.

OCTOBER 2006

BURD SONGS ON COMPILATION

Australian label Off The Hip are releasing an all girl compilation early 2007 entitled Hellbound Honey's. This will feature 'Too Short', and 'One Way Street' – their cover of Australian punk legends The Saints. As soon as it becomes available a link will be added to this site.

HIVES & SEX AIDS



The Burds not only attracted members of The Hives and Spiritualized at their recent On The Rocks gig, they got a couple shagging to their set! Here is the eye witness account of the live sex show from Trucker's mate:

"Yeah, it was so good!! I thought you were ace. It was a pleasure to see the Burds at long last. Infact it was so good, that the couple next to me actually had sex on the table - I kid you not. I couldn't blame them though - why wait till bedtime to seduce your partner with the groin curdling sounds of the Dirty Burds on a tatty old stereo?? get it on whilst they actually play live!! I have never seen the like before Teri.... (and neither had Mr Howling Pelle - he couldn't stop looking). Infact, if it wasn't for me and my wife being a little under the weather, I do believe we would have found it hard not to strip down and get equally medieval with them."

WHERE'S THAT SINGLE? WHERE'S THE BURDS?

All quiet on the Burd front? Not so! The band are busy writing and rehearsing new material. They will be in the studio next week, to record their second single. What happened to the first single, you say?!! 'Its still in the pipeline' is all we are being told right now. In August they had a photo shoot with renowned photographer Lee Powers, for style magazine Rodeo. Lee kindly sent us this fabulous picture of jiggy from the shoot.

DIRTY BURDS BAND AID

Its a busy end to the month gig-wise, now guitarist Trucker is more mobile with 'only' a knee high plaster cast. 1234 Records are holding a charity gig for The Cazals who recently had ALL their equipment stolen by scumbags. Cazal Aid will be held at The Laboratory, 33-35 Commerical Rd on Sat 24th July 9:30pm-6am. Other artists appearing are...Erol Alkan, Bloc Party, Queens of Noize, Francois Dirty South, Ten Minutes With My Dad, The Rakes, Wade Crescent, Super Studio, Night Flight Crew, and The Shots.

TRUCKER BREAKS A LEG!!

...well a tendon actually! On the recent 'South Coast Tour' star-jumping Trucker Burd
(aka Teri, Sick Bitch, Cripple, etc) ruptured her achilles tendon. ‘Oh how we laughed!’ - says Jiggy. She'll be plastered, nothing new there, and wheelchair bound for the next couple of months. All Burd gigs from now on will have to have wheelchair access. How rock n roll! Unfortunately July 10th Dublin Castle gig has had to be cancelled.

Jiggy adds -
"On a more positive note, at least it wasn't me! and we'll have someone to hold our coats, handbags etc....To maintain her cool we will be customizing the wheelchair with alloy wheels, spokey dokeys, go faster stripes and leopard print upholstery....and she will make a great battering ram, object of ridicule, wheelibin, mobile advertising hording, the list is endless! She will of course also be a bloody fire hazard so may have to play via satellite from her front room....or we'll just use a cardboard cut out. No one will notice the difference anyway! Send the cripple a message I'm sure she'll get back to you straight away, as she'll have fuck all else to do."

Due to an injured guitarist there have been a few cancelled gigs this month, but they will be back onstage at The Dublin Castle, 31st January.

Apologies to those who came down for the Dirty Burds experience at Electricity Showrooms only to find that the band got CANCELLED for being TOO LOUD. The manager could not understand why they couldn't be a little more quiet... now, these gals are lots of things, but quiet ain't one of them! After having a go at him for booking a rock'n'roll band when he should have been getting a mime in for entertainment, they left the dickhead in tears and headed off with fans to get ripped across Shoreditch. The area will never be the same...

FILMED FOR GAY UK TV
The Dirty Burds are being filmed for GayUK TV and we need 20 lush boys for the audience. On 19th November at Shoreditch Studios, Lion House 141-145 Curtain Road, Shoreditch.
